Alton Centennial Rotary Paint A Butterfly Contest/Fundraiser in full swing

This summer’s Alton Centennial Rotary Paint a Butterfly Contest/ Fundraiser is in full swing!  All proceeds from this Contest/Fundraiser will benefit Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice.  Purchase  your butterfly by Monday, August 7th at the Profile Bank on Main Street in Alton, NH (a personal entry is $25 and an entry with a sponsor is $75). Hospice and Alton Rotary Club Teaming up for Hospice Fundraiser

The Alton Rotary Club and Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice are teaming up to raise money to offset costs for charity hospice care and other expenses not reimbursed by insurance. Paint a Butterfly is a creative and exciting fundraiser that allows individuals and businesses to purchase a large wooden butterfly silhouette with a stake for display in gardens and yards. The butterflies are then painted by the individual or business in any manner and on any topic they would like. Go crazy and express yourselves! Feel free to be creative and unique.

The cost of the butterfly silhouettes are $25.00 without a sponsor and $75.00 with a sponsor per entry and can be picked up and paid for at Profile Bank 145 Main St, Alton. LaValley/Middleton Lumber Company will be helping with the supplies but the cost of the silhouettes will offset the remainder of supply costs.

The fundraiser will come to a conclusion on Saturday August 19th at B&M Railroad Park, downtown Alton when a cake and ice cream bash along with judging and awards for the most creative butterfly will be given. Three different awards will be awarded with prizes totaling $325.00.  An auctioning off of the painted butterflies will be held as well with the proceeds going to hospice.

Please join us in this creative fundraiser so that we can continue to provide care for those who are at the end of their lives and are without insurance coverage.

White Dragon Martial Arts to host 26th Kick for Cancer and raise awareness about hospice care

In 1990 Grandmaster Dr. George Verigan started the annual Kick for Cancer Martial Arts Tournament.  The purpose is to teach students how to give back to their community and to help them to realize that at some point in their lives we will all know someone who will need the services provided by hospice.  Each year proceeds of this tournament go to support the Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice.

Over the last 20 years, Kick for Cancer has raised an impressive amount totaling over $150,000,” states Vinnie Baiocchetti, Tournament Director and owner of the White Dragon Martial Arts of New Hampshire.

What a great event,” says Brian Winslow, past Director of Development for Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice, “I was lucky enough to attend the Kick for Cancer last year and was surprised not just by the number of participants but also by the fact that competitors were coming from all over the country to be part of this event.”

This years’ Kick for Cancer is being held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the White Dragon Martial Arts of New Hampshire located at Gilmanton Elementary School, 1386 NH Route 140, Gilmanton Ironworks.

Registration begins at 8:30 AM

Tournament to begin at 10:00 AM
