Addressing a crowd of over 115 friends and supporters of Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice Tuesday evening at Church Landing in Meredith, Dr. Sanders Burstein, Medical Director-Dartmouth-Hitchcock spoke about his experiences starting difficult conversations and then “Honoring Care Decisions.”
During the program staff recognized individuals that have gone above and beyond the expected this past year in their service to Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice. The Millham Leadership Award was given to Shawn LaFrance, Executive Director of Foundation for Healthy Communities for his efforts with Advanced Directives and for helping to bring POLST or “Providers Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment to New Hampshire.” The Shirley Bentley Outstanding Clinician Award was given to Physical Therapist Jeff Carpenter for his continued excellent service to our clients, and the Leavitt/Knight Volunteer of the Year Award was given to Valerie May for her volunteer work in bringing music therapy to our clients.
Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice continues to be a leader in providing quality care to those in need throughout the Lakes Region. The Annual Meeting also featured the recognition of retiring Trustees Sylvia Countway, Pam Clemons-Keith, Lisa Garcia, John Giere and Headley White. New Trustees voted onto the Board included Bill Johnson, Kristen Gardiner and Chief Leonard Wetherbee. Officers elected included President: William Schwidder, Vice President: Susan John, Treasurer; Jared Price and Secretary: Fredda Osman.
